Montgomery County’s Chief Information Officer, E. Steven Emanuel, is featured on the cover and in a feature article in the October/November 2009 edition of Government Technology’s Public CIO Magazine.

In an article by the magazine’s editor, Tod Newcombe, entitled “From Obscurity to Overdrive,” Emanuel and other CIO’s from around the country are part of a discussion about new leadership challenges that are moving public Chief Information Officer’s out of obscurity and how the field of technology is changing.”

“The role of a public CIO has expanded significantly in recent years and it now offers opportunities to help others use technology in new ways for greater successes in the work place,” said Emanuel, who joined the County’s Technology Department in 2007. “It’s an exciting and rewarding field for those of us in these public positions, and I’m grateful to be part of it.”
