Free Bone Builders Classes Coming to Wisconsin Place Community Center

Free Bone Builders classes will be offered at the Wisconsin Place Community Center, beginning Monday, November 16. The daytime classes help regular participants increase bone density naturally, an effective option for those who may not wish to use anti-osteoporosis medicines. The Wisconsin Place Community Center is located at 5311 Friendship Place in Chevy Chase.

A Bone Builders orientation and demonstration will be held Monday, November 9 at 10 a.m. at Wisconsin Place for all Montgomery County residents interested in learning more about the upcoming classes. Classes begin November 16 and will be held Mondays and Thursdays from 10 to 11 a.m. Class size is limited.

Bone Builders is an osteoporosis prevention exercise program sponsored by Montgomery County’s RSVP and Aging and Disability Services. Each one-hour session includes balance training, weight training and health discussion. Because volunteers staff the federally funded program, there is no charge for instruction or equipment.

For more information, contact Shawn Brennan, Montgomery County Health and Human Services, Aging and Disability Services, 240-777-1350.
