| Detectives from the 3rd District Investigative Section are continuing to investigate a shooting that occurred yesterday evening in front of the Gold’s Gym in Silver Spring. Through the course of the investigation it was learned that the 25-year-old male victim, from Washington, D.C., was shot as a result of being involved in a drug deal. He was not a patron of Gold’s Gym. He was walking outside the gym when he was approached by the suspects. Detectives are investigating the possibility that the victim and suspects are known to one another.
Yesterday, at approximately 5:55 p.m., officers from the 3rd District responded to the outside entrance area of Gold’s Gym, located at 8661 Colesville Road in Silver Spring, for the report of a shooting that had just occurred. Preliminary investigation revealed that the victim was shot in the leg above the knee. That bullet entered and exited his left leg and entered the mid part of his right leg. The victim was transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The first suspect is described as a black male, 6’ tall, 130 pounds, bald with a beard and side burns. He was wearing a puffy coat, white t-shirt and was armed with a handgun. The second suspect is described as a black male, clean-shaven, wearing a hat and a gray-hooded sweatshirt. He had a tear-drop tattoo on his face.
