MetroTech

MetroTech is a regional consortium established to increase the number of employees in the bio and information technology industries within 50 miles of the District of Columbia. The purpose of the program is to enhance the skills of these sectoral employees. Companies that agree to hire recently laid-off/dislocated worker(s) may customize their training needs and select the training institution necessary for the job seeker to gain employment within the company. Participation in the program is limited to dislocated workers, but before training begins, the participant must have a reasonable commitment/offer letter from an employer. MetroTech funds 100% of the new employees training.
