Holiday Collection Schedule

When your recycling/trash day falls on one of these holidays, except if it falls on a Saturday or Sunday, the collection will be made the next day, and remaining pickups that week will slide one day forward. For example, when a holiday falls on Saturday or Sunday, there will be no collection changes that following week. When a holiday falls on Monday, all collections that week will slide forward one day. All items to be collected must be out at the curb by 7:00 a.m.

Note that the slide only takes place when the actual holiday falls on a weekday.  If the actual holiday falls on a weekend day, the collection schedule is not affected.  For example, if July 4 is on a Sunday (with the observed holiday on Monday, July 5), there would be no holiday slide.

If you (or your community/homeowners' association) contract for your trash collection privately, please check with your community manager or your hauler to find out how holidays are handled. The Division of Solid Waste Services does not have information about private collections and their holiday schedules.
