The department has established three minority health programs that focus on the development of effective, culturally and linguistically appropriate policies and programs to begin to improve the health and well-being of racial ethnic and other under-served communities in the county. The three programs are the African American Health Program, the Latino Health Initiative and the Asian American Health Initiative.
