We are not accepting new youth volunteers at this time.

Thank you for your interest in earning SSL hours at MCASAC! SSL hours consist of non-animal handling shifts only. Students who reach 40 hours of non-animal handling shifts may graduate to our Youth Apprentice Program.

A parent/guardian is required to go through all the required trainings for becoming a volunteer. The parent/guardian and youth will volunteer together as a team. Multiple youth may be under the supervision of one parent/legal guardian.

Example Housekeeping tasks:

  • Washing food and water bowls
  • Laundry
  • Sweeping
  • Creating enrichment items
  • Cleaning cages/kennels
