The Fraud Section is responding to the growing concern with the increase in these crimes.

This unit conducts investigations relating to:

• Theft by fraudulent means
• Theft schemes
• Identity theft
• Embezzlement
• Fraud against the elderly

What to do if you are victimized

• Report the incident to the police non-emergency number 301-279-8000
• Contact the three credit bureaus:
  • Equifax
  • TransUnion
  • Experian
• Notify your banking institution
• Make an online complaint to the National White Collar Crime Complaint Center http://www.ifccfbi.gov/
