TRRAC: 2005 Excellence in Recycling at Multi-Family Properties

Awards given by Solid Waste Services

Awarded to multi-family properties that recycled at least 50% of their waste in 2004

  1. Recipient: Aldon Management Corporation

    Reason for being recognized: As a property management company for several multi-family properties in Montgomery County, Aldon Management Corporation continues to improve their recycling programs at all of their properties. In 2004 their properties recycled more than 50 percent of their waste.

  2. Recipient: Avalon at Grosvenor Station Apartments

    Reason for being recognized: The Avalon at Grosvenor Stations recycling program is a true example of excellence, recycling 88 percent of their waste in 2004. The tenants recycle with great enthusiasm and management strives to keep the tenants educated and enforces their recycling program by imposing a fine to residents who are non-compliant.

  3. Recipient: The Blairs

    Reason for being recognized: The Blairs is being recognized for their continued efforts to strive to recycle 50 % of their waste generated. In 2004, their hard work paid off by achieving a recycling rate of 52 percent.

  4. Recipient: The Charter House - (Senior Living)

    Reason for being recognized: The management team and residents at Charter House senior living facility exemplifies a winning attitude towards recycling, making recycling a number one high priority. In 2004, they recycled 66 percent.

  5. Recipient: Grosvenor Park Condominiums II

    Reason for being recognized: The management staff at Grosvenor Park Condominiums-II is extremely dedicated to recycling. They provide on-going education by promoting recycling on an in-house cable television channel.

  6. Recipient: The Kenwood Condominiums

    Reason for being recognized: With a joint effort from management, tenants and assigned recycling floor representatives, the Kenwood Condominiums recycled 62 percent of their waste in 2004.

  7. Recipient: Thomas Choice Garden Apartments

    Reason for being recognized: Thomas Choice Garden Apartments had a very impressive recycling program. The recycling is always neat, clean and the participation and awareness is high. Kudos for achieving an outstanding recycling rate of 88 percent of waste diverted from the waste stream.

Outstanding Achievement in Recycling by an Individual

Awarded to individuals at multi-family properties for their outstanding efforts in recycling

  1. Recipient: Ann Leonard-Holmburg

    Reason for being recognized: Ann Leonard-Holmburg is being recognized as a true recycling advocate. Her passion for recycling has set the tone for recycling at Sumner Village Condominiums. She strives to keep recycling on the fore front of her tenants by promoting recycling in their community newsletter.

  2. Recipient: Annette M. Sadelson

    Reason for being recognized: Annette M. Sadelson is being recognized for exemplifying high enthusiasm for the recycling program at Summit Hills Apartment. They aggressively alert residents for noncompliance and impose a fine to repeated offenders. Hat’s off to Annette for a job well done.

  3. Recipient: Stephanie Sgroi

    Reason for being recognized: Stephanie Sgroi is the driving force behind the recycling program at The Bennington. She continues to strive for excellence by monitoring her program regularly and keeping education a high priority.
