Signs at the facility direct you to the Recycling and Trash sections. Both sections are staffed by attendants.

Coming for a Recycling Center tour?

Please use the Car Entrance. The Recycling Center is the first building on the right as you drive back into the facility complex. Ample parking is available in front of the building.

Directions

From I-270:

• Take Exit 9A for 370.
• Then, take the Rockville exit to Shady Grove Road.
• At the traffic light at the end of the exit ramp, turn left (east) onto Shady Grove Road.
• To use Car Entrance:
• Immediately get into the rightmost lane, and then turn right (south) onto Frederick Road (Route 355). Get into the leftmost lane.
• At the next traffic light, turn left into the Transfer Station/Recycling Center complex.
• To use Truck Entrance:
  • Continue on Shady Grove Road, through the intersection with Frederick Road (Route 355).
  • At the first traffic light past Route 355, turn right into the Transfer Station complex. If you pass The Great Indoors store, you have gone too far.

From Frederick Road (Route 355)

• If heading North on Frederick Road (Route 355):
  • cross King Farm Boulevard
  • turn right into the Transfer Station/Recycling Center property at the next traffic light
• If heading South on Frederick Road (Route 355):
  • cross Shady Grove Road
  • turn left at the next traffic light
