| The County Rental Assistance Program (RAP) provides limited monthly assistance with rent to low income seniors, individuals with disabilities and families. The Handicapped Rental Assistance Program (HRAP) provides monthly financial assistance to individuals that reside in a group home licensed either by the State of Maryland or Montgomery County who have a mental illness which constitutes a disabling condition. |

The Supportive Housing Rental Assistance Program (SHRAP) is funded by Montgomery County. This is a permanent supportive housing program designed to provide housing assistance and service coordination to special needs renter households (both single adults and families with children) with household incomes at or below 30% of Area Median Income. All applicants MUST be referred by the Department of Health and Human Services OR a public or private service provider agency. Self referrals cannot be accepted.
