Dementia Support Groups

Alzheimer's Caregivers Support Group

The Alzheimer's Association sponsors a monthly support group at St. James', Potomac (11815 Seven Locks Road) for those caring for someone with Alzheimer's disease or another form of dementia. Meetings take place from 3:00pm to 4:30pm in the Parish Hall on the third thursday of each month. See the Disability Calendar of Public Events for the meeting dates. All support givers are welcome to come. Two facilitators trained by the Alzheimer's Association will lead the group. Independence Now: Center for Independent Living Skills for Persons with Disabilities:	301-587-4162 (V)
Provides information and referral, individual advocacy, peer counseling, group meetings and assistance with transition from nursing home back to the community for adults with disabilities. For persons with disabilities living in Montgomery or Prince Georges Counties.

DRADA Potomac Support Group:

For family members and loved ones of people who have mood disorders (e.g. clinical depression, bipolar illness). Meetings are held twice a month at St. Raphael's Church in Rockville. See the Disability Calendar of Public Events for the meeting dates.

Friendly Visitor/Pets on Wheels:	301-424-0656 (V)
Provides volunteers who develop relationships with and visit isolated homebound seniors and nursing home residents.
