Child and Adolescent Mental Health Program


Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMH) provides family-focused outpatient services to children and adolescents with mental health, addiction, or behavioral problems. Specific services provided by CAMH are listed below:
 

  • Mental health assessment and psychiatric evaluations, as needed for children, adolescent and their families.

  • Development of an individual treatment plan, which is focused on serving the child or teenager within the family context.

  • An array of treatments such as family, individual and group therapy, play therapy,   activity groups, behavioral and medication management.

  • Drug and alcohol assessment, education and therapy, including urinalysis monitoring of clients and referral to 12-step programs.

  • Coordination of treatment with other agencies involved with the child and family.

  • Community-based outreach services to schools and targeted neighborhoods.

    Who is Eligible

    Children and adolescent residing in Montgomery County with their families. Services are provided for those clients who have Medicaid, who have no health insurance, or who have exhausted their mental health insurance.

    Fees

    Fees are charged on a sliding scale based on the family's ability to pay.

    Staff

    A multidisciplinary staff of psychiatrists, psychiatric nurse clinical specialists, clinical social workers, and mental health counselors. Services are also provided in Spanish.
