A website with the aim of helping seniors to stay in their own homes. Has sections on adapting your home, paying for the modifications, and making the home senior safe. Sponsored by the National Resource Center on Supportive Housing and Home Modification.

Universal Design-Home Modification
From AARP, this site gives information of how to modify your home if you want to remain instead of choosing other housing. Includes a room by room survey and checklist. Gives modification ideas for both inside and outside the home.

Assistive devices

ABLEDATA-Get Product Information
This searchable database contains over 20,000 currently available products from over 2,000 different companies. Each product record contains a detailed description of the product the price, and where to buy it. Search by product type is the most useful way to search because keyword searching is tricky.

Adaptive Equipment, Assistive Technology, Medical Equipment
This is a list of suppliers, most of them local, from whom you can purchase needed equipment and assistive technology. From the County Aging and Disability Services.

The Boulevard Disability Resource Center
This website, with an unlikely title, gives lists of suppliers of assistive devices of all types.

Dynamic Living
A commercial website that sells all types of assistive devices for everyday life, including things like amplified telephones, door knob adapters, clocks with large numbers, utensils with soft grips, etc.

EnableMart
Enablemart is a leader in assistive technology distribution. They provide over 3,000 assistive technology and assistive living devices from over 200 manufacturers.

Microsoft Accessibility

This is a site for and about widowers that gives information on grief, bereavement, and recovery. Has chat and e-mail forum.
