Bus Operator  
 
Are you a good driver? Do you like interacting with people? If so, consider a career as a Montgomery County Bus Operator. As a Bus Operator, you'll have an opportunity to interact directly with members of our diverse community while providing essential transportation to work, home, shopping, entertainment, and the many other activities and destinations in the County. As a Bus Operator, you will be counted on to ensure the safe and on-time operation of a public transit vehicle and for tactful and courteous interaction with the public.

To apply, you must:
 
 
 
be 21 years of age as of the first day of employment with Montgomery County Government
 
have two years of experience as a motor vehicle operator with a Maryland State Class "C" driver's license or its equivalent from your state of residence and a current safe driving record (no more than one outstanding point at the time of application and examination)
 
submit a State Department of Motor Vehicles Certified True Copy of your official driving record from the state in which you currently reside. The certificate must be obtained no more than six weeks before the date of your application
 
have the ability to obtain a commercial driver's license (CDL) from your state of residence upon completion of County Bus Operator training
 
be able to read and write and do basic arithmetic
 
have basic written and oral communication skills.
