MCRD is now offering a terrific selection of 10 new activities geared specifically for Baby Boomers, or active adults aged 43-63. The idea is to introduce specialized programming to the active adult who is not ready to retire.
The program offers dance, fitness, mental fitness, hobbies and games with most starting Sept. 29. Check out this list of the classes with dates, sessions and cost. All take place at the Holiday Park Senior Center in Silver Spring.
“Last winter there was a community forum on Baby Boomers and since that time I've worked on this project with MCRD, Health and Human Services and the Seniors Team at MCRD,” said Judy Stiles, recreation specialist overseeing the Baby Boomer curriculum. “We feel there is a target audience of adults that might technically be a ‘senior’ in age, they want to stay active in hobbies and classes that keep feeling and looking young.”
The program will also include life skills or advice forums. In the meantime, try the hand dance class. Really.
