The Fairland Community Recreation Center
opened on May 19, 2002. It is a multi-
purpose recreational facility that provides
a variety of activities and events for people
of all ages. In June of 2008 it was renamed in memory of the council member who brought many improvements to this area.
The 26,300 square foot facility features a
full size gymnasium, social hall, exercise
room, game room, community room,
conference room, and art room. Each
of the rooms at the center are utilized
for several different purposes, such as:
community meetings, classes, sports
leagues and rentals.
Our facility is completely handicapped
accessible with ramps, elevators, ladders
and lifts.
Financial Assistance
Financial Assistance is available for most Montgomery County Recreation Department programs.
Americans with Disability Act
Montgomery County Government is committed to complying with the Americans with Disability Act (ADA). If you need auxiliary aids or services in order to participate, notification of need is required two weeks prior to start of the program.
Rental Information
The center provides a variety of spaces for rent for meetings, parties, and other activities.

The Marilyn J. Praisner Community Recreation Center is closed on the following holidays: New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and New Year's Eve. The Fairland Community Recreation Center is open on the following holidays: Martin Luther King, Jr.'s Birthday, President's Day, Veteran's Day, and US Presidential Inauguration Day. Election Days: Center is open, however Montgomery County Department of Recreation classes and activities are cancelled. |
