Sports Officials Needed

If you are at least 16 years of age, we need you to officiate games for youth in grades 4-6. The basketball season begins in early January and continues 8-10 weeks. Baseball/Softball season begins in mid-April and continues 8-10 weeks. Flag Football season begins in mid-September and continues for 8 weeks. Positions are available at elementary, middle school, park sites, and community center gyms throughout the County. Saturday schedules begin at 8:45am, Sunday schedules begin at noon and continue throughout the day. Some weeknight opportunities exist for umpires in the Spring season.

Officiating instruction is provided. Individuals hired, scheduled and work will be paid for the training sessions. Salary is determined by previous experience and education. Some consideration is given for travel time. Equipment and staff shirt are provided. High school students may receive community service credit for hours worked.

Basketball Referees for the 7-12th grade and adult leagues are provided through a contract with IAABO Board 12 Basketball Referees Association.
