Rec Department Seeks Youth Sports Referees & Coaches Training provided and all games are on weekends
Referees are needed for all Recreation Youth Sports Leagues. We'll provide the training, and you get to help to provide safe and fun sports activities for our County youth. Have fun and help the kids, too - be a referee!
Coaches are also needed for our youth basketball, flag football, baseball, and softball teams. The Recreation Department offers you a chance to complete the National Youth Sports Coaches' Association certification program. Upon completion of the program, you will be prepared to coach, and the certification will even provide secondary liability insurance.
For more information about the Recreation Department's referee and coaching opportunities, check the Recreation website at www.montgomerycountymd.gov/rec or call the Sports Team at 240-777-6961.
County Recreation Department Offers Adult & Teen Competitive Sports Leagues Fall sports include basketball, football, softball, soccer and volleyball.
The Montgomery County Recreation Department offers competitive leagues for athletes and wanna-be athletes of all ages.
Don't let the name "competitive" fool you. We offer many levels of competition for most sports - everything from "I've never played this game before" to "I was a collegiate star!" Our schedulers work hard to ensure that teams with similar skill levels play each other as much as possible for a fun experience for everyone. Call us and we can help you decide on what level is right for your team.
Registration for competitive sport leagues are by pre-formed teams only. Individuals seeking team placement may be placed on a "free agent" list distributed to team managers who may be looking to fill roster spots. For more information about these leagues and how to register, check the Recreation website at www.montgomerycountymd.gov/rec or call the Sports Team at 240-777-6961.
