Catch the Excitement

The Active Adults 55+ Programs of Montgomery County Department of Recreation offers a wide variety of energizing and enjoyable programs specifically designed for adults who wish to maintain healthy and fulfilling lives and are at least 55 years of age. As diverse as the people they serve, these offerings provide a broad spectrum of opportunities and experiences.

Senior Olympic InformationSenior Olympics

Senior Centers offer classes and educational programs, exercise and fitness, health screening and education, entertainment and special events.

Neighborhood Senior Programs provide health and fitness, social opportunities, varied programs and enjoyable mini-trips

SOAR (Senior Outdoor Adventures in Recreation) day trips include walking tours, canoeing, biking and other energetic excursions

Special Events such as dances, theme parties and travel shows.

Lifelong Learning Opportunities classes, seminars and workshops for every interest

Exercise and Fitness Programs many levels, include aerobic and strength-building regimens

Volunteer Opportunities many possibilities, interesting responsibilities

Health and Social Services free or discounted health education, screening and counseling

Seniors, 65 years and older,  and persons with disabilities now ride FREE on Ride On and Metro buses in Montgomery County.  To ride FREE you must present a valid Metro Senior ID Card or a valid Medicard Card and Photo ID.  More info
