Please join the project team, along with Councilmember Natali Fani-González, on April 24 th at 6:00pm to hear an update on the Wheaton Arts and Cultural Center project. The community will have an opportunity to provide feedback to the team.

Community Engagement and Land Planning for Jeremiah Park
The County has selected Design Collective, Inc. to provide comprehensive community engagement and land planning services for Jeremiah Park, a 45-acre County-owned site on Crabbs Branch Way in Derwood. The County is currently exploring the option to co-locate new County and MCPS zero-emissions bus depots, as well as private mixed-use development.

Our Mission
The Office of Planning and Development implements and manages the County’s redevelopment projects by creating opportunities for public-private partnerships that leverage County assets and facilitate Executive initiatives.
OPD advises the County Executive and elected officials on planning and land use matters related to County land and the optimal use of County resources, managing facility planning, acquisition of land for County facilities and disposition of County-owned land no longer needed for public use.
Finally, OPD manages special projects that utilize the team’s unique and varied areas of expertise.
