PTI has honored Montgomery County with a 2013-2014 Technology Solutions Award for its “Bikeshare Station Site Identification and Property Verification” program. This program was recognized as a winner in the Energy/Environment Technology award category. For the second consecutive year, Montgomery was the only County in the State of Maryland - and the only jurisdiction in the Washington DC metropolitan area - to be recognized as an award winner by PTI in its annual technology solutions awards competition. For more information, please see the County’s

Montgomery County Maryland Named Finalist in 2012 Information Security Executive® (ISE®) North America Award Award recognizes project excellence in Information Security

The Enterprise Cloud Security Service and Architecture Project was named a Finalist in the 2012 ISE® North America Awards in the Government Project category. The award was presented at the ISE® North America Leadership Summit and Awards 2012 event held on November 7, 2012 in Alexandria, Va. Montgomery County was the only state or local government entity to make the final round in the Government Project category.

2005 Digital Counties Survey Winner!  The Center for Digital Government named Montgomery County Government number five out of the top ten counties nationwide in their 2005 Digital Counties Survey.

2004 Top Pick!  For the Third year in a row,  MuniNetGuide.com  designated the Montgomery County Government Web site as a “Top Pick” of 2004. MuniNetGuide.com is a leading national web site covering municipal-related content on the Internet.  

2004 - Top-10 Digital County Governments Winner! Montgomery County Government was named by the Center for Digital Government and National Association of Counties (NACo) as a  winner of their 2004 Digital Counties Survey, a national survey sponsored by  SAP, a proud supporter of all local governments in the United States.  In April, all counties in the United States were invited to participate in the survey, which consisted of 17 questions that focused on how county governments are applying information technology to effectively deliver services to their citizens. The survey grouped counties into four population categories: 500,000 or more, 250,000-499,999, 150,000-249,999 and less than 150,000.  

2003 Top Pick!  For the second year in a row, MuniNetGuide.com designated the Montgomery County Government Web site as a “Top Pick” of 2003. MuniNetGuide.com is a leading national web site covering municipal-related content on the Internet.

2003 - MuniNet selected 14 websites based on their comprehensiveness, the opportunities for interaction between residents and government, and the quality of the information provided. MuniNet described Montgomery County’s site as having “a comprehensive web portal that provides one-stop shopping for news, information and County services.”  

2003 Best of the Web! Montgomery County’s Web site captured first place nationwide for a county government portal page in the Center for Digital Government’s 2003 Best of the Web Awards.  The Center for Digital Government is an international research and advisory institute on information technology in government and education.  

2003 NATOA Government Programming Award Winner! The National Association of Telecommunications Officers and Advisors (NATOA) awards Montgomery County top honors for excellence in broadcast, cable, and electronic programming developed by a municipal agency.

2003 E-Gov Pioneer Award!  Montgomery County is one of only two counties nationwide to earn top honors in the fifth annual E-Gov Awards Ceremony. Sponsored by Accenture, the award recognizes agencies that have developed solutions for improving electronic government delivery, as well as exemplary achievements in E-Government and higher education service delivery. The County earned the Pioneer Award - the top tier of the winning categories - for its Web Portal Consolidation, which combines interactive programs and services with useful information in one easy-to-navigate site.

2002 Top Pick!  MuniNetGuide.com -- an online guide and directory to web sites for state, county and local governments names Montgomery County government’s new web site a 2002 Top Pick in its sixth annual tribute to web sites that stand out among their peers.

2002 E-Gov Trailblazer Award!  The fourth annual E-Gov Awards recognizes public sector professionals who have developed innovative E-Government programs that increase productivity, save limited public resources, and improve the quality, timeliness, and accuracy of citizen services.

2002 eGovernance Award of Distinction (Silver)!  This prestigious award by the National Academy of Public Administration recognizes Montgomery County's commitment to using information processing and communication technology to create alternative delivery channels for government information and services.

2002 Local Government Innovator Award!  Accenture and MIT presents their third annual Digital Government Awards to winners in six categories chosen by scholars and thought leaders in government best practices and information technology. These awards, with winners chosen from 125 finalists, provide a picture of some of the e-government best practices developed and implemented in the past year.  

2001 Best of the Web!  Second Place Winner for best local government Web site in the nation.
