Commissioner Kenita V. Barrow was appointed to the Montgomery County Ethics Commission in October 2010. She currently serves as an associate in the Washington, D.C., Food and Drug practice of Arnold & Porter LLP. Ms. Barrow's practice involves advising clients on matters related to the Food and Drug Administration's regulation of over-the-counter and prescription drug products, human cell and tissue products, medical foods, dietary supplements and cosmetics. Prior to her legal career, Ms. Barrow served as the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, Program Coordinator for the American Psychiatric Association and assisted with on-going research conducted by the American Psychiatric Institute for Research and Education.
Ms. Barrow has a Juris Doctorate degree from Vanderbilt University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Biomedical Ethics from the University of Maryland Baltimore County. Beyond her B.S. and J.D. degrees, Ms. Barrow also completed graduate coursework in the Pharmacology and Interdisciplinary Program in Neuroscience at Georgetown University. She is a member of the District of Columbia and Pennsylvania bars and resides in Silver Spring with her family.
