MCEO NO. 159-08:  DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION - Order for traffic control signs, install No Parking Any Time in Silver Spring on the east side of Dogwood Drive, on the east side of  Sheffield Manor Drive and on the west side of Sheffield Manor Drive.  Effective Date: 7/16/08.

 

MCEO NO. 166-08:  DEPARTMENT OF FIRE AND RESCUE SERVICE - Fire Lane Establishment.  This order is notification of the establishment of a fire lane at Safeway, 116 University Blvd. West.  The department is hereby ordered to post fire lane signs and paint curbs/pavement (painting optional) in the location listed above.  When signs and paint work have been completed, this order will authorize the enforcement of this fire lane by appropriate police and fire officials.  Signs must be posted so that it is not possible to park a vehicle without being in sight of a sign.  The fine for parking in a fire lane is $250.00.  Effective Date:  7/2/08.

MCEO NO. 170-08:  DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION - Traffic Order - Gaithersburg. Directs to erect and/or remove traffic control establishing streets or parts of streets as through streets, thereby granting right-of-way to traffic on said streets or parts of streets at all intersecting streets.  Remove street, Flower Hill Way from Snouffer School Rd. to Gaithersburg-Laytonsville Rd.  Install street, Flower Hill Way, from Snouffer School Road to Woodfield Rd. Remove street Tea Rose Dr. from Emory Grove Rd to Flower Hill Way.  Install street, Tea Rose Dr. from Emory Grove Rd to Flower Hill Way.  Effective Date:  7/18/08.

 

MCEO NO. 172-08:  DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION - Order for traffic control signs, Rescind all parking regulations in Silver Spring on both sides of Dameron Dr. between Forest Glen Road and the terminus of Dameron Dr. south of Admiralty Dr.  Install No Parking Any Time/No Stopping Any time/Permit Parking Only Forest Grove in Silver Spring on the west and east side of Dameron Dr. between Forest Glen Rd. and the terminus of Dameron Dr. south of Admiralty Dr.  Effective Date: 7/3/08.

 

MCEO NO. 173-08:  DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION -Traffic Order - Rockville. Directs to erect and/or remove traffic control establishing streets or parts of streets as through streets, thereby granting right-of-way to traffic on said streets or parts of streets at all intersecting streets. Remove street, Stonebridge View Dr, from Muddy Branch Rd. to Travilah Rd.  Effective Date: 7/16/08.

 

MCEO NO. 178-08:  DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION - Public Hearing - Changes in the Taxicab Rates.  A public hearing was held by the County Executive or his designee at 6:30 pm on Wednesday, July 31, 2008, in the Executive Office Building, Lobby Level Auditorium, 101 Monroe Street, Rockville, Maryland 20850.  The purpose of this hearing was to consider comments from the public and taxicab industry on recommended changes to the taxicab rates as proposed by the Taxicab Services Advisory Committee.  Effective Date: 7/30/08.

 

MCEO NO. 179-08:  DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION - Acceptance of Option Contract with Michael Igor Fedor and Sandra Joyce Fedor Woodfield Road Extended, CIP No. 500151.  The Option Contract between Michael Igor Fedor and Sandra Joyce Fedor and Montgomery County Maryland for the purchase of land and granting of easements for the above-referenced project is hereby accepted.  The County Attorney is hereby directed to take all necessary steps to acquire the land.  Effective Date: 7/29/08.

 

MCEO NO. 180-08:  DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION - Traffic Order.- Bethesda.  Directs to erect and/or remove traffic control establishing streets or parts of streets as through streets, thereby granting right-of-way to traffic on said streets or parts of streets at all intersecting streets.  Remove street, Cedar Lane from Rockville Pike to Summit Avenue. Install street, Cedar Lane from Rockville Pike to Beach Dr.  Install street, Cedar Lane from Beach Dr. to Saul Rd.  Install street Cedar Lane from Saul Rd. to Summit Avenue.  Effective Date: 7/18/08.

MCEO NO. 183-08:  DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION - Order for traffic control signs in Rockville, remove Stop signs on Victory Lane and Postoak Road, east and westbound and on Postoak Road at Victory Lane north and southbound. Install Four-Way Stop sign at the intersection of Postak Road and Victory Lane.  Effective Date: 7/17/08.

 

MCEO NO. 184-08:  DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION -  Order for traffic control signs, install 2 Hour Parking 9 am - 5 pm Monday - Friday Except by Permit White Flint in Bethesda on both sides of Bangor Drive from Stillwater Avenue to Waycross Way.  Effective Date: 7/18/08.

 

MCEO NO. 185-08:  DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION - Order for traffic control signs, install No Parking Any Time In Bethesda on the south side of Roseland Drive from 60 feet west of Old Georgetown Rd. to Old Georgetown Rd. and on the north side of Roseland Drive from Old Georgetown Rd. to 160 feet west of Old Georgetown Rd.  Effective Date: 7/18/08.

 

MCEO NO. 186-08:  DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION - Order for traffic control signs. Install No Parking Any Time in Wheaton/Glenmont on the east side of Chriswell Lane from 55 feet south of Caddington Avenue to Caddington Avenue.  Effective Date: 7/18/08.

MCEO NO. 188-08:  DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION - Traffic Order.- Wheaton/Glenmont.  Order for traffic control signs directs to install and/or remove the following traffic and/or parking control devices at the designated locations.  Install School Zone, Fines Double School Days 8 am - 4 pm on Gold Mine road from Heritage Hills Drive (western intersection) to Heritage Hills Drive (eastern intersection).  Remove, No Stopping School Days 8:30 - 9:30 am 2:30 - 4 pm, Install No Stopping Any Time, No Stopping School Days 8:30 - 9:30 am 2:30-4 pm on the south side of Gold Mine Road along the property line of Greenwood Elementary School.  Remove Stop on Vandever Street, install Stop for eastbound traffic on Vandever Street at Alpenglow Lane.  Remove Stop in Brookeville on Goldmine Place at goldmine Road to stop westbound traffic on Goldmine Place, install Stop for westbound traffic on Gold Mine Place at Gold Mine Road. Remove Stop on Goldmine court at Goldmine Road to stop eastbound traffic on Goldmine court, install, Stop for east bound traffic on Gold Mine Court at Gold Mine Road.  Remove Stop on Tanterra Way to stop east and westbound vehicles at Shady View Lane, remove Stop on Tanterra Way and Circle to stop northeast and southwest bound vehicles at Tanterra Circle.  Install Stop for southbound and northbound traffic on Tanterra Way at Tanterra Circle. Remove Stop on Shady View Lane at Tanterra Way to stop north and southbound traffic, install Stop for northbound and southbound traffic on Shady View Lane at Tanterra Way (eastern and western intersections)  Effective Date: 7/21/08.

 

MCEO NO. 189-08:  DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION - Order for traffic control signs in Bethesda, remove Stop sign on Amy Lane at Beech Tree Rd. so as to stop southeast bound traffic on Amy Lane.  Effective Date: 7/21/08.

 

MCEO NO. 190-08:  DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION - Traffic Order - Wheaton/Glenmont.  Order for traffic control sign, install No Parking Any Time in Wheaton/Glenmont on the south side of Delano Street from 50 feet west of Connecticut Avenue to Connecticut Avenue.  Effective Date: 5/06/08.

 

MCEO NO. 191-08:  DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION - Traffic Order - Bethesda.  Order for traffic control signs, install No Standing Any Time in Bethesda on the south side of Cheltenham Dr. from a point 162' east of Wisconsin Ave. to Tilbury Street.  Rescind all parking regulations including but not limited to the following traffic orders: 102-03 on the south side of Cheltenham Dr. from Wisconsin Ave. to a point 162' east of Wisconsin Ave.  Install No Parking Any Time, Two-Hour Parking 9:00 am - 10:00 pm Except Sunday, and No Standing Any Time, on the south side of Cheltenham Dr. from several points on Wisconsin Ave. east.  Effective Date: 7/20/08.

 

MCEO NO. 192-08:  DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION - Acceptance of Option Contract with Tsanchi and Mayhwa Li Travilah Road, CIP No 500101.  The Option Contract between Tsanchi and Mayhwa Li and Montgomery County Maryland for the purchase of land and granting of an easement for the above-referenced project is hereby accepted.  The County Attorney is hereby directed to take all necessary steps to acquire the land and easement.  Effective Date: 7/29/08.

 

MCEO NO. 193-08:  DEPARTMENT OF LIQUOR CONTROL - FY09 Appropriation and Transfer.  State law provides for the Director of Finance and the Director of the Department of Liquor Control (DLC) , with the approval of the County Executive, to determine the amount of working capital required by the Department and to retain from the Department's net profits (before making any deposit into the General Fund of the County) the funds necessary to service DLC related debt and provide adequate working capital for the operation of the DLC. Because of this State law, both the County Attorney and the Attorney General have advised that the determination of the amount of funds required for these purposes is within the exclusive province of the County Executive, and is not subject to the County budget process.  It is ordered that the Director of Finance transfer from the Liquor Control Fund to the General Fund, at the end of each of the first three quarters of the fiscal year, an amount equal to one fourth of the amount of $30,410,060.  This amount includes the transfer for: earnings of $27,452,610; technology modernization costs of $635,600; and overhead of $2,321,850.  The County Executive on the advice of the Department of Liquor control, the Office of Management and Budget, and the Department of finance will determine the final quarterly transfer at the end of the fiscal year.  Effective Date: 7/31/08.

 

MCEO NO. 194-08:  DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION - Acceptance of Option Contract with Destiny road Homeowners Association, Inc. Father Hurley Blvd. Ext., CIP No. 500516.  The Option Contract between Destiny Road Homeowners Association, Inc. and Montgomery County, Maryland for the granting of an easement for the above-referenced project is hereby accepted, contract obtained in the amount of $86,500.00.  The County Attorney is hereby directed to take all necessary steps to acquire the easement.  Effective Date: 8/07/08.

 

MCEO NO. 195-08:  DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION - Acceptance of Option Contract with Destiny Road Homeowners Association, Inc. Father Hurley Blvd. Ext., CIP No 500516.  The Option Contract between Destiny road Homeowners Association, Inc. and Montgomery County, Maryland for the granting of easements for the above-referenced project is hereby accepted, contract obtained in the amount of $66,300.00.  The County Attorney is hereby directed to take all necessary steps to acquire the easements.  Effective Date: 8/07/08.

 

MCEO NO. 196-08:  DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION - Public Hearing - Chapman Avenue Extended, CIP No. 500719.  A public hearing will be held before the County Executive or his designee at 3:00 pm on Wednesday, September 3, 2008, in the first floor auditorium of the Executive Office Building at 101 Monroe Street in Rockville, Maryland.  The purpose of this hearing is to consider a proposal to construct an extension to Chapman Avenue from Randolph Road to Old Georgetown Road, a public way located in North Bethesda-Garrett Part in election district 4.  Project related data and files are available for examination in the offices of the Department of Transportation on the 9th floor of the Executive Office Building, 101 Monroe Street, Rockville, Maryland.  Unless otherwise approved by the County, expenditures authorized by this Order plus expenditures accrued to date for this project shall not exceed $12,192,000.00 and shall be made payable from funds appropriated for CIP Project No. 500719.  The purpose of the hearing is solely to obtain public comments to assist the County Executive in the determination of whether or not to authorize this project.  Effective Date: 8/13/08.

 

MCEO NO. 201-08:  DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION - Traffic Order - Silver Spring.  Order for traffic control signs, rescind all parking regulations including but not limited to the following traffic orders: 53-93 in Silver Spring on the east side of Second Avenue from Fenwick to Spring Street.  Install No Stopping Except Buses, On-Hour Parking 9:00 am to 6:00 pm Except Sunday, and  No Parking Any Time in Silver Spring on various points of the east side of Second Avenue.  Effective Date: 8/05/08.

 

MCEO NO. 204-08:  DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION - Order for traffic control signs, install 2 Hour Parking 9 am - 5 pm Monday - Friday Except by Permit Forest Grove in Silver Spring on the north side of Belvedere Boulevard from the eastern property line of 1801 Belvedere Boulevard to the western property line of 1817 Belvedere Boulevard.  Effective Date: 8/06/08.

 

MCEO NO. 205-08:  DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION - Order for traffic control signs, install and/or remove the following traffic and/or parking devices at the designated locations.  Remove No Parking Any Time/Metered Parking (no sign) In Rockville on the east side of Woodglen Dr. from Security Lane to Nicholson Lane.  Install No Parking Any Time/Metered Parking (no sign) at various points In Bethesda on the east side of Woodglen Drive from Security Lane to Nicholson Lane.  Effective Date: 8/15/08.

 

MCEO NO. 209-08:  DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION - Public Hearing - Abandonment of Portion of Evans Parkway Northbrook Estates Subdivision, Silver Spring.  A public hearing will be held before the County Executive or his designee at 1:00 pm on Monday, October 20, 2008 at 101 Monroe Street, EOB Lobby conference room, Rockville, Maryland 20850.  The purpose of this hearing is to consider an application received from the Department of Parks, Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission, the applicant, seeking abandonment of a portion of Evans Parkway in the Northbrook Estates Subdivision in Silver Spring.  After the aforesaid hearing, the Hearing Officer shall report his or her findings and recommendations to the County Executive for further consideration as prescribed by County Code.  Effective Date: 8/19/08.

 

MCEO NO. 210-08:  DEPARTMENT OF FIRE AND RESCUE SERVICE - Public Hearing - Fire Protection Systems - Fee Schedule for Inspections, Permits, Licenses, Certificates and Exceptions.  A public hearing will be held before the Fire Chief or his Designee at 1:00 pm on Friday, October 3, 2008 at the Fire Code Enforcement Section Main Conference Room, 255 Rockville Pike, 2nd Floor, Rockville, Maryland  20850.  The purpose of this hearing is to consider a proposed new Executive Regulation 29-08, Fire Department Access and Water Supply.  The proposed regulation establishes prescriptive requirements, but also allows for performance-based design of roadways to ensure efficient and timely delivery of emergency assistance and fire suppression services.  After aforesaid hearing, the Hearing Officer shall report his findings and recommendations to the Fire Chief or his Designee for further consideration as prescribed by County Code.  Effective Date: 08/01/08.
