Victim Assistance and Sexual Assault Program (VASAP) - Publications and Videos
VASAP is distributing a Spanish language videotape, En Contra de la Violencia Sexual (Against Sexual Violence), which was produced to better educate the Hispanic/Latino community about local services and to encourage victims to seek help, especially latina women. The U.S.. Census estimates that the Hispanic/Latino population in the U.S.. comprises 13.7% of the total population of the United States. This instructional tape is linguistically appropriate and culturally sensitive. This videotape can be used in trainings and in client sessions. It offers easy to follow information on how to recognize sexual violence issues, how to reduce risk factors, what happens when reporting to the police, what happens during the forensic exam with the SAFE (Sexual Assault Forensic Examiner) nurse, meeting the rape crisis outreach volunteer, meeting with the state's attorney and how to get services. Please email or call VASAP to purchase this video or DVD for $25.
