Effective January 1, 2015, the administration of County-sponsored prescription drug coverage for Medicare-eligible retirees will change. (This does not apply to Kaiser members.) Please click here for all communications related to this change.
  Responsible for human resources policy development and planning, administration of human resources programs, ensuring the integrity of the merit system and directing new initiatives to better serve customers and improve organizational performance. Works to attract, hire, promote and retain employees for County departments and agencies that result in a highly skilled and diverse workforce. Provides departments and agencies with advice and training regarding hiring and selection; conducts new employee orientation; and handles reductions-in-force and designs public safety promotional examinations. Administers the County’s internship, fellowship and volunteer programs and Disability Employment Initiatives. Offers professional development opportunities to employees and managers through online learning and instructor-led classes. Designs performance improvement strategies and specialized training to meet specific departmental needs. Provides the Department of Health and Human Services employees and its community partners learning opportunities for performance improvement and the opportunity to earn continuing education units to maintain professional certification. Leads organizational change efforts for enterprise-wide implementations in the County including business processes, systems and technology, job roles and organization structures. Focuses on driving end user adoption and proficiency in systems and other large scale initiatives. Designs change management, employee engagement and team development strategies and tools. Conducts needs analysis and action plans. Designs and facilitates instructor-led and web-enabled training for enterprise-wide implementations.
