On Thursday evening, December 8, a fire began in the storage pit at our Montgomery County Resource Recovery Facility in Dickerson, Maryland. The fire is under control but firefighters continue to be on the scene. It will take several days to resolve this situation.
How will the fire affect Shady Grove Processing Facility and Transfer Station customers?
We discourage commercial haulers and self-delivering customers from delivering trash to the Shady Grove Processing Facility and Transfer Station until Wednesday, December 14, 2016.

Will the fire affect residential curbside collections?
No, we expect our residential curbside collections to be made on their normal schedule.
Montgomery County residents may bring material directly to the Shady Grove Transfer Station and Processing Facility and the Poolesville Beauty Spot. Proof of residency is required.
