Electric Leaf Blower Rebate Program FAQs
Who is eligible?
Businesses and residents with a Montgomery County street address are eligible (no P.O. Boxes). Addresses will be reviewed, and applicants will only receive rebates if the address is for a business or a property that maintains landscapes necessitating the use of leaf blowers.
How much is the rebate?
- Rebates for landscapers with revenue under $250,000 annually or 5 or less employees can receive up to $1500 in one twelve-month period.
- Landscapers with revenue over $250,000 or 6 or more employees can receive up to $1000 in one twelve-month period.
- Residents and Property Managers can receive up to $100 for one rebate.
How many rebates can I apply for?
- Landscapers can apply 3 times (once per year, for up to 3 years).
- Residents can only receive one rebate.
What equipment is eligible for a rebate?
Vouchers can be redeemed for machines, batteries, or chargers, as kits or separately. Before applying, check if the equipment you want is eligible for a rebate. The following models and associated batteries and chargers are approved at this time— (List will be updated before July 1, 2025) to include: Commercial Backpack Blower, Commercial Handheld Blower, Residential Backpack Blower, Residential Handheld Blower.
Where can I redeem my voucher?
Dealers will be updated before July 1, 2025.
How do I apply and purchase my equipment?
Instructions for applying for rebate and purchasing equipment:
- Review eligible equipment and select dealer
- Apply (link will be open on July 1, 2025 at the top of this page)
- Receive voucher from the County
- Bring voucher to dealer
- Purchase equipment—dealer will apply voucher discount
- Keep receipts for warranties (there are no returns)
What if I bought equipment before applying for a rebate?
We cannot provide rebates for equipment purchased before rebate application submittal.
Can I return the equipment after I receive the rebate?
No returns are allowed. Research equipment before applying and ask your dealer to review the equipment with you before making your purchase. Dealers will honor manufacturer warranties.
Can I use my voucher for multiple purchases?
Each voucher is good for one purchase. It cannot be used to make separate purchases, for example on different dates or at different retail locations.
Does the County make my information publicly available?
No. We only track information to ensure rebates are not being replicated.
What documents do I need to apply?
We will only ask for documents if there is an issue with your application (for example, duplicate addresses).
