- What a CDAC member does
- The Community Development Advisory Committee CDAC is made up of Montgomery County residents. Once a year the County Executive appoints 15-20 residents to serve on the CDAC.
- Every fall the CDAC holds a public hearing to discuss community development needs. The public hearing also covers the County's efforts to address these needs.
- The CDAC also reviews Community Development Block Grant CDBG applications for public services.
- Applicants meet with the CDAC on three evenings in the fall to discuss their application. Based on the application and interview, the CDAC makes funding recommendations for the following year's budget to the County Executive.
- New CDAC members are generally sought in the spring or summer.
- Members are appointed by the County Executive and serve three-year terms. Members may be reappointed by the CE no more than once. The Chairperson will be designated annually by the CE and may serve no more than two years.
