2018 Recount Information
The Montgomery County Board of Elections certified the 2018 Gubernatorial Primary Election on July 16, 2018. Two recount petitions have been filed.
The recount has concluded with all 23,001 official ballots recounted. A summary of recount results will be available by 9 p.m. July 21.

An election recount has been petitioned or ordered by the court in the contest for Maryland House of Delegates District 16 - Democratic Primary. The recount process will begin promptly at 9:00 AM on Friday, July 20, 2018, at the Montgomery County Board of Elections Warehouse, 18753 N. Frederick Avenue, lower level.
Subject to any court order, the petitioner or plaintiff may select the manner in which the recount is conducted. There are four options to recount votes cast during early voting, on election day or by absentee or provisional ballot: (1) a manual recount of the reports printed from voting units used in early voting, election day, and the absentee and provisional ballot canvasses; (2) a re-scan of voted paper ballots involved in the recount; (3) a manual recount of voted paper ballots involved in the recount; (4) a manual recount of ballot images of voted ballots involved in the recount. The petitioner has chosen option (3), for all ballots involved in the election for this contest.
Visitors should park in the rear of the building and will be required to have cell phones turned off while in the warehouse during the recount. Nightly updates will be posted on the results page of this website within two hours of recess.
