David Naimon
Now in his fourth four-year term, Board President David Naimon has a rich history of serving on the Board since 2011, having previously served as a substitute member, as a voting member, and as Board Secretary. Throughout his tenure, Mr. Naimon has worked on the Board to increase transparency by providing more detailed minutes of Board meetings, making recordings of Board meetings available to the public, and posting Board materials available in advance of Board meetings, promote the recruitment of election judges by having more 8-hour shifts, shorten Election Day lines at Leisure World by dividing it into three polling places, add early voting centers in White Oak, North Potomac, and Aspen Hill, address wait times in Election Day polling places with the longest waits, and reach out to a variety of people to encourage voter registration, voting, and election judge recruitment in communities across the county.
A Silver Spring native and product of Montgomery County Public Schools, Mr. Naimon’s community involvement began as a teenager as a campaign volunteer and county student government leader, leading to his service as the first student member of the Montgomery County Board of Education. He holds degrees from Princeton University’s School of Public and International Affairs and the University of Virginia School of Law.
In addition to his role on the Board, Mr. Naimon was a longtime career senior executive in the federal government until his retirement from the federal government at the end of May 2024. His passion for public service and dedication to fostering an engaged and inclusive democracy continue to drive his work.
