Army PFC Jay Thomas Ballenger
Army PFC Jay Thomas Ballenger, 17, of Silver Spring, Maryland. He was assigned to L Company, 3rd Battalion, 5th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Cavalry Division. Ballenger was killed in action in Yangpyong, South Korea. Gave his life on March 7, 1951. Attended Montgomery Blair High School.
Army CPL Claude Hicks Belcher
Army CPL Claude Hicks Belcher, 22, of Dickerson, Maryland. He was assigned to K Company, 3rd Battalion, 38th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Infantry Division. Belcher was killed in action while fighting the enemy in Hoengsong, South Korea. Gave his life on February 12, 1951. Attended Poolesville High School.
Army PVT Marshall Donald Bolton
Army PVT Marshall Donald Bolton, 23, of Bethesda, Maryland. He was assigned to E Company, 2nd Battalion, 180th Infantry Regiment, 45th Infantry Division. Bolton was killed in action from mortar shrapnel in North Korea. His remains were not recovered. Gave his life on January 12, 1952. Attended Bethesda-Chevy Chase High School.
Marine Corps 2nd Lt Ernest "Ringo" Arthur Coblentz
Marine Corps 2nd Lt Ernest “Ringo” Arthur Coblentz, 25, of Silver Spring, Maryland. He was assigned to Company G, 3rd Battalion, 5th Marines, 1st Marine Division. Coblentz was killed in action from small arms fire in Korea. Gave his life on September 17, 1951. Graduated from University of Maryland College Park in 1951.
Army CPL Charles T. Compton
Army CPL Charles T. Compton, 19, of Bethesda, Maryland. He was assigned to F Company, 2nd Battalion, 19th Infantry Regiment, 24th Infantry Division. Compton was taken prisoner of war while fighting the enemy in South Korea on January 3, 1951 and died while a prisoner. Gave his life May 29, 1951. Attended Bethesda-Chevy Chase High School.
Army PFC Robert Eugene Fink
Army PFC Robert Eugene Fink, 19, of Boyds, Maryland. He was assigned to 13th Field Artillery Battalion, 24th Infantry Division. Fink was killed in action in South Korea. Gave his life August 6, 1950.
Army PFC James H. Fling, Jr.
Army PFC James H. Fling, Jr., 20, of Chevy Chase, Maryland. He was assigned to Headquarters & Headquarters Company, 19th Infantry Regiment, 24th Infantry Division. Fling was killed in action in South Korea. He graduated from Bethesda-Chevy Chase High School and worked as a painter before enlisting in the Army. Gave his life July 16, 1950.
Navy LTJG Kendall Courtney Gedney
Navy LTJG Kendall Courtney Gedney, 25, of Takoma Park, Maryland. He was assigned to VF-51 Aviation Fighter Squadron Fifty One. Gedney was on his 20th fighter-bomber mission over Communist territory in Korea when his plane was struck by Red anti-aircraft fire. His remains were not recovered. Gave his life March 3, 1953. Attended the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis.
Army PFC Frank J. Gossman
Army PFC Frank J. Gossmann, 22, of Silver Spring, Maryland. He was assigned to the 31st Infantry Regiment, 7th Infantry Division. Gossmann died of wounds received during combat in North Korea. Gave his life October 14, 1952.
Army 2LT Frederick Sprigg Hays, Jr.
Army 2LT Frederick Sprigg Hays, Jr., 23, of Barnesville, Maryland. He was assigned to 27th Infantry Regiment, G Company, 2nd Battalion, 25th Infantry Division. Hays was killed in action in North Korea. His remains were not recovered. Gave his life on September 22, 1952.
Marine Corps Pfc Charles Marland Hibbert
Marine Corps Pfc Charles Marland Hibbert, 20, of Silver Spring, Maryland. He was assigned to H Company, 3rd Battalion, 7th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division. Hibbert was killed in action from small arms fire in South Korea. Gave his life on January 23, 1953.
Marine Corps Pfc Kenneth Cameron MacLean
Marine Corps Pfc Kenneth Cameron MacLean, 22, of Silver Spring, Maryland. He was assigned to 1st Marine Regiment, E Company 2nd Battalion, 1st Marine Division. MacLean was killed in action in North Korea. Gave his life on July 25, 1953.
Army CPL Grayson Lee Mathis
Army CPL Grayson Lee Mathis, 21, of Damascus, Maryland. He was assigned to 31st Infantry Regiment, 1 Company, 3rd Battalion, 7th Infantry Division. Mathis was listed as missing in action while fighting the enemy in North Korea on December 3, 1950. His remains were not recovered. He was presumed to have given his life on December 31, 1953.
Army 1LT Dan Ingram McKeithen, Jr.
Army 1LT Dan Ingram McKeithen, Jr., 23, of Bethesda, Maryland. He was assigned to 15th Infantry Regiment, A Company, 1st Battalion, 3rd Infantry Division. McKeithen was killed in action while fighting the enemy in North Korea. Gave his life on March 15, 1953. Attended Bethesda-Chevy Chase High School.
Army CPL Kermit Q. Prather
Army CPL Kermit Q. Prather, 21, of Poolesville, Maryland. He was assigned to 503rd Field Artillery Battalion, A Battery, 2nd Infantry Division. Prather was taken prisoner of war while fighting the enemy near Kunu-ri, North Korea on December 1, 1950. Gave his life while a prisoner on April 21, 1951.
Marine Corps Sgt Theodore Goldsborough Procter, Jr.
Marine Corps Sgt Theodore Goldsborough Procter, Jr., 23, of Silver Spring, Maryland. He was assigned to 11th Marine Regiment, Headquarters Service Company, 1st Marine Division. Procter died an in accidental drowning in Korea. Gave his life on July 20, 1952.
Army 1LT Louis John Storck
Army 1LT Louis John Storck, 24, of Kensington, Maryland. He was assigned to the 2nd Engineer Combat Battalion, B Company, 2nd Infantry Division. Storck was killed in action probing for mines under heavy enemy mortar and artillery fire with three of his men around outposts in the vicinity of Pangsok-tong, Korea. Gave his life on October 6, 1952. He was awarded the Silver Star and Purple Heart medals posthumously.
