OMS Health and Risk Prevention works closely and continuously with the Division of Risk Management to safeguard employee safety and wellbeing. Health and risk prevention initiatives target lifestyle variations within different workgroups.

OMS Health and Risk Prevention and the Division of Risk Management will work with you to develop programs that can assist your department’s specific health and wellness needs. Meet your new Health and Injury Prevention Manager, Dr. Kelsey Tanler! Kelsey Tanler, DAT, LAT, ATC is a Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) and Doctor of Athletic Training (DAT) whose job is to work with departments to keep employees moving better, feeling better, and as a result, preventing injury. OMS Health and Risk Prevention provides a variety of nutrition, fitness, mobility, and stress management services, including:
- Job Analyses: Discover job-specific ways to fit healthy eating around a non-traditional work schedule (e.g., police, firefighters, bus operators).
- Team member readiness programs: post-offer, pre-placement functional testing; new team member injury prevention training sessions; preventative stretching/mobility programs; education on safe work practices.
- Stretch-and-Flex Programs tailored to the physical demands of your employees and job site.
- Ride along opportunities to gain better insight into the demands of a specific job.
- Our Health and Injury Prevention Manager, Dr. Kelsey Tanler, is happy to provide informational newsletters on a monthly or quarterly basis that covers topics pertinent to your worksite.
- Mobility Demonstration: A 30-minute program covering anything from foam rolling to joint mobility aimed at priming and relaxing the body pre- and post-work activity. Topics can include releasing low back pain, stretching for desk work environments, and much more!
- Wellness Coaching: In-depth and holistic approach to your specific needs at your worksite to assist with your physical and mental wellness.
