Division of Labor Relations and Public Safety

Attorneys in this Division provide legal advice and represent Montgomery County Government in all labor and personnel matters. They serve as general counsel for the following County agencies: Montgomery Fire and Rescue Services, Office of Human Resources, Office of Labor Relations, Department of Correction and Rehabilitation, and the Police Department and its Internal Affairs Division. Attorneys in this Division also defend or prosecute contested cases involving the County, Self-Insurance Fund agencies, and their employees, while pending before State and Federal appellate courts.
