Parenting Coordinators
Parenting coordination refers to a process by which parties work with a parenting coordinator to reduce the effects or potential effects of conflict on the parties' child.
Parenting Coordinators may be appointed in an action in which the custody of or visitation with a child of the parties is in issue and the Court determines that the level of conflict between the parties with respect to that issue warrants the appointment:
- During Pendency of Action: On motion of a party, on joint request of the parties, or on the Court's own initiative and after notice and hearing, the Court may appoint a parenting coordinator during the pendency of the action. Unless sooner terminated in accordance with this Rule, the appointment shall terminate upon the entry of a judgment granting or modifying custody or visitation; or
- Upon Entry of Judgement Granting or Modifying Custody or Visitation: the Court may appoint the individual who served as a parenting coordinator during the pendency of the action.

Court-Approved Parenting Coordinator List
NOTE: The following list is in alphabetical order; this list does not make any representations as to the competence of a particular Parenting Coordinator but only affirms that each has complied with the requirements of Maryland Rule § 9-205.2, and the policies and procedures established by the Circuit Court for the appointment of Parenting Coordinators.
It is anticipated that additional parenting coordinators will be added to the list on an ongoing basis as new applications are received and approved.
Attorneys interested in becoming a parenting coordinator should submit the items required by Maryland Rules of Procedure, Rule § 9-205.2 (c) by email to [email protected]. After an application is submitted, each member of the Parent Coordinator (PC) Committee will review it.
Ordinarily, an applicant who meets the criteria set forth in Maryland Rule § 9-205.2 will be approved. However, the PC Committee may elect to solicit comments from other judges or court staff about a PC applicant. Approved applicants will be notified. Applicants not approved will also be notified, with explanation where appropriate.
