
Helene Meister is a tax professional with two master’s degrees in public finance and international taxation from the University of Paris II and a Juris Doctor from American University. She previously worked as an associate for Hogan and Lowells in their affiliated office in Paris. She also interned for the Tax Division of the Department of Justice and volunteered for the Janet Spragens Tax Clinic to represent underprivileged communities and low-income taxpayers before the IRS.
In 2021, Helene received the AmeriCorps President Service Award Bronze Medal for her community service to veterans and fundraising to various charities, including WemodelUSA, an organization committed to fight against human trafficking.
Helene is a mother of a child with special needs and she advocates for children with learning disabilities helping parents to access resources though ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder) support groups.
In her free time, Helene coordinates fashion events and has been a stage director for four years for the fashion show fundraiser Beyond the Little Black Dress which promotes women entrepreneurship and the arts. She also worked at New York Fashion Week collaborating and styling runways for emergent and confirmed designers. Helene is originally from France and lives with her family in Rockville.
