Flash provides service on Colesville Road/Columbia Pike (US 29) with 12 stops from Silver Spring Transit Center to Briggs Chaney on Flash Orange and an express ride to Burtonsville on Flash Blue.
Service every 7-8 minutes at many stops during weekday rush hour
Flash Orange Route runs every 15 minutes, every day, between Briggs Chaney Park and Ride and Silver Spring Transit Center via White Oak Transit Center. On weekdays, it runs from 5:15 a.m. to 1 a.m., and on weekends and holidays, it runs from 5:30 a.m. to 1 a.m.
Flash Blue Route runs every 15 minutes on weekdays from 5:30 to 8:30 a.m. and 3:30 to 7:30 p.m. between Burtonsville and Silver Spring Transit Center via Columbia Pike.
Flash offers level boarding or ramp access so you can easily enter or exit the bus. People using wheelchairs and scooters may enter through the front door and people pushing strollers or carts can enter through the middle door.

The driver can quickly deploy a bridge for a smooth entry. Every Flash bus has one traditional wheelchair securement area and one Quantum automatic securement system. The Quantum automatic securement system allows passengers to safely secure themselves without the driver’s help (unless requested). Learn more about the Quantum system.
With Flash you don't have to fold up your strollers or carts. Every Flash station offers level boarding or ramps so there are no steps to get on or off the bus.
Bikes should enter through the rear door and can be easily secured on board. Flash has the first onboard bike racks in the region. Using the Interlock system is quick and easy.
Work is underway to expand Flash service on US 29 to Howard County as well as to four other corridors in the near term. Additionally, the US 29 Flash BRT Phase 2 project will improve the existing US 29 Flash BRT service by building a dedicated bus lane between Sligo Creek Parkway and Tech Road.
