Ride On Reimagined

The Montgomery County Department of Transportation (MCDOT) announced the release of a comprehensive bus network redesign plan that implements recommendations from the two-year Ride On Reimagined Study. The implementation plan aims to expand access to public transportation in Montgomery County and provide faster, more reliable bus service by changing bus routes and frequency, expanding coverage to underserved areas and adding new bus routes.

Your safety is our #1 priority, and we are committed to providing a secure environment for everyone. If you see something unusual, suspicious, or potentially dangerous, don’t hesitate to say something. Reporting suspicious items or dangerous behavior can make a critical difference in preventing incidents and ensuring the well-being of all passengers. Notify your bus operator immediately if you observe anything out of the ordinary. They are trained to assess the situation and will involve the appropriate authorities if necessary. Staying alert and proactive not only protects you but also helps create a safer community for all.

Ride On: What Drives You?

Riders can submit stories on a rolling basis of how Ride On impacts their lives for the better for a chance to win prizes by:

Submitting a form on the contest webpage.
Posting on Instagram, X or Facebook and tag @RideOnMCT.
Sending an email to rideon.customerservice@montgomerycountymd.gov.

Winners will be announced on a monthly basis.

Federal Employees Transportation Resources

Federal employees returning to in-person work can take advantage of accessible and convenient transit services from the Montgomery County Department of Transportation (MCDOT). MCDOT Ride On buses service Federal work locations across Montgomery County and larger transit hubs to facilitate travel into Washington, D.C. Additionally, passengers who ride Metrobuses receive a free same-day transfer to Ride On buses. Click here to learn more!

Service Interruptions

Construction
Accidents
Traffic volume
Weather conditions

When snow, storms or other special circumstances occur that affect Ride On's ability to follow normal weekday schedules, bus service will operate under the 'S' Service Plan.
