Citizenship preparation classes offered by the Gilchrist Immigrant Resource Center
Our classes are offered for 10 weeks in the fall, winter, spring, and 8 weeks in the summer. In our classes, you will:
- learn about the citizenship application form
- practice interview questions and learn about U.S. history and civics to practice interview questions

- Students may only register for ONE class.
- Must have been a permanent resident for at least four years (two years if married to a U.S. citizen).
- Must be a Montgomery County, MD resident, 18 years or older.
- All classes are taught in English. At least basic English required.

Registration for Winter 2025 classes will open at 1pm on December 23. If we do not have space for you in our classes, please see list of classes offered by other providers (PDF), and also the educational resources provided on our Citizenship page.
The Saturday in-person class is at the Gaithersburg Library.
