General
- Prevention of Blindness Society of Metropolitan Washington: 202-234-1010
- Programs for children and adults, including vision and glaucoma screenings, eyeglass distributions, low vision rehabilitation, resource assistance, support groups, and more. Website also provides financial resources for eye care.
- Low Vision Resource Center: 301-951-4444
- Call to get help from a Resource Navigator, who can connect you with the best resources for you. At the Center, you can also see and try various aids and devices available.
- Shepherd’s Table Eye Clinic: 301-585-6463 x203
- Provides vision care to low-income adults who do not have vision insurance. Must be referred by government agency or nonprofit organization.

- Provides assistance to low-income people in need of assistance with vision exams and eye glasses, as well as hearing aids.
- VSP Eyes of Hope
- Low-income, uninsured adults and children may receive gift certificates for free eye-care and glasses.

For Children
- Medicaid and Maryland Children’s Health Program
- Children who are enrolled in Medicaid or the Maryland Children’s Health Program can receive vision care through those programs. For questions about whether you qualify and to apply, contact Maryland Health Connection (English) (Español): 240-777-1815 or 855-642-8572
- Care for Kids: 301-628-3450
- County health program for low-income children who do not qualify for other insurance. Does not require immigration status.
- The Neediest Kids Program
- Provides vision care and other services to low-income children. Request referral from school nurse.
