Organizations Serving Specific Communities

Although the organizations below target specific communities, many serve other communities as well.  Please contact each organization for specific information on services provided.

    • Focuses on Latino youth and their families who live in high poverty areas of the County (also serves non-Latino youth and families). Provides youth development programs, academic support, workforce development, case management, mental health and substance abuse counseling, and more. Offers services in multiple locations throughout Montgomery County.

  • CASA: 866-765-2272
    • Membership-based organization serving Latino and other immigrant communities. Provides English and Citizenship Preparation classes, tax preparation, legal services, vocational training, youth leadership development, and advocacy. Offices in MD, VA, PA, and GA.

    • Provides services to low-income families & immigrants from diverse backgrounds through programs in community development, immigration support services, healthcare, landlord/tenant intervention, and more.
  • Chinese Culture and Community Service Center (CCACC): 301-820-7200; 9318 Gaither Road, Suite 215, Gaithersburg, MD 20877
    • Serves the Chinese American community and other communities by providing educational, healthcare, recreational, and other services to children, seniors, the low-income, non-native English speakers, and anyone who is in need of assistance.

  • Korean Community Service Center of Greater Washington (KCSC)

    • Assists Asian Americans and new immigrants by providing  immigration and health services, and programs for seniors, families, and victims of domestic violence.  Also offers classes in English, citizenship preparation, and computers. Office locations throughout VA and MD.

    • Provides senior programs, educational programs for youth, parent support programs, immigration support, translation and interpretation services, public benefit programs application assistance, and health insurance enrollment.

    • Provides financial assistance for food, clothing, shelter, transportation, and medical care for Muslims in need. Also provides social services and referrals.

    • Assists immigrants and other low-income residents in the areas of: education, employment, information and referrals, interpretation, food assistance, immigration, public services, and finding health care.

    • Offers community education to Francophone Africans. Provides free English classes, educational workshops on how to navigate the American school system, and collaborates with other local organizations on free activities focused on health and wellness, entrepreneurship, arts, and environment.
