Technical Assistance for Seniors

Montgomery County is offering free tech support appointments for seniors age 60 and older starting August 2020. Senior Planet COVID Corps members are specially trained tech support workers who can provide assistance with computers, tablets, cell phones, printers, email, using the Internet, downloading and using apps, and more.

Free 30-minute appointments are available for a limited time period during the fall of 2020. Appointment times begin from 9:00 am - 6:00 pm, Sunday - Saturday and are based on availability. We are also available via phone or video chat in the following languages: English, Spanish, Chinese, Amharic, French, Portuguese, Farsi, Hindi, Nepali, Malayalam, and Russian.

  • Help accessing email
  • Learning to store documents online
  • Understanding password storage services
  • Finding a feature on an iPhone or Android smartphone
  • Help with MacBook or Windows issues
  • Help with problems with tablets and printers
  • Using the Internet or applications
  • Other technology-related questions or issues

Note: We do not provide phone or computer repairs.

Appointments are open Sunday through Saturday upon Availability:

We are now providing appointments on weekends and later in the evening. Please notify us if there are any preferences regarding appointment times, we can be flexible. Technology support is available in English, Spanish, Chinese (Mandarin), Portuguese, Amharic, Farsi, Hindi, Nepali, and Russian.

  1. Click on the link below to use the Cable Complaint Intake Form to request a one-on-one tech help appointment.
  2. Put in your name, address, phone number, and email or the contact info of the person who needs tech help. (If there is no email address, type
  3. Leave the “Cable Provider” box blank.
  4. In the “Problem Description” box:
    • Write a brief sentence describing your issue. For devices, include what type of device (examples: MacBook, Windows computer, iPhone, Android, HP printer, etc). This helps us get the right person for the job to help you. Please note that we do not provide any repairs.
      • If you would like your appointment in a language that we support other than English, write the name of the language you want to have your appointment in at the end of the description box.
    • NOTE: If you are making an appointment on behalf of someone else, please put the organization you are working for in parentheses. For example, (CCACC) or (HHS).
      • When you are done describing the tech issue and listing your device, preferred appointment time, and language, click on the “Submit” button.
      • Sit back and relax. Senior Planet COVID Corps members will call or email you to confirm the appointment. There will also be a courtesy call a day before your appointment as a reminder.
