What is Rec Your Way PTA?
Work with your school’s Parent Teacher Association (PTA) to create a fun after school program specifically designed for students.

We will create a recreation program for students, faculty and/or staff. All you must do is tell us your idea, and then we take it from there!

Frequently Asked Questions
1. Once your program request is submitted, you will receive a response/confirmation within 2 business days.
2. A Recreation Specialist will do his/her best to work with you to schedule your program start dates/times while working within the availability of the instructor.
3. Once your program is created in ActiveMontgomery, you will receive a link for each of your group members to register and submit payments. Your group will need at least eight (8) participants registered within 72 hours from the start of the program.
- Prices are set at the individual program level ($8 - $15) and should be comparable to our current programming.
- There is no charge to start the process. No commitment required. The fee is only charged after the program is created/confirmed.
- Non-resident fees do not apply to virtual programs.
We are open to all program ideas. The more creative, the better!

- After-School Clubs
- Mix and Match Class Categories – Zumba Nation / Yoga Combo, Basketball / Speed and Agility, Music / Art, and more!
- Family Programming – Missing your family, whether down the street or in a different state? Reconnect through a virtual class (Family Meals Cooking Class, Multigenerational Workout, Etc.)
- Give the gift of recreation. Customize a program for your loved ones.
- Team Bonding – Create a skills training or fitness program to keep your team engaged and fit.
- Co-Worker Collaboration – Stay connected in a virtual lunchtime yoga or fitness class.
- Workshops – Do you and your team need to get/renew your CPR and First Aid certification? Cooking/Nutrition/Meditation/Etc.

Programs can be created for all ages. Feel free to customize the age range of your program. Multigenerational programming is welcome.
Rec Your Way PTA is specifically for students, however, we can also program for faculty and staff! - Number of Participants
All programs must have eight (8) participants in order to facilitate. If your group is less than eight, we will do our best to work with you and other like-minded participants in the community to get the program started. - Public and Private Programs
Programs can be limited to your school only or open for home-schooled children and faculty/staff.
- Instructors are contracted through Montgomery County Recreation and can include a variety of small businesses and sole proprietors specializing in each of the listed program categories.
- If you have enjoyed an MCR class before and have a favorite instructor, please feel free to let us know. A Recreation Specialist can reach out and see if they are available.
