Programs
Therapeutic Recreation programs are specifically designed for individuals with disabilities and focus on participants unique abilities.
Therapeutic Recreation classes are offered in aquatics, art, dance, fitness, sports and more. Weekend social activities, dances and special events provide opportunities to interact while developing friendships through shared interests.
We offer specialized summer camps for youth and teens. Activities are planned to meet participants' interests with adjusted participant-to-staff ratio in a structured setting.
We welcome and encourage all individuals with disabilities to participate. To facilitate inclusion, you may request auxiliary aids or services (such as companions). Interpreters, Braille or large print, companions or other accommodations should be requested prior to the start of programs. Early notification allows us time to put accommodations in place.
Programs include fitness, adult leagues, skills clinics (vary seasonally), Kids Zone, Saturday Night Socials, and swimming. There are also summer and break camps offered for youth and teens (Summer Fun Zones, Summer Teen Zones, etc.), and seasonal special events (ex. Santa’s Holiday Workshop, Sunday Funday Family Swim Party).
Programs and events take place during weekday afternoons, evenings, and on the weekends. A complete listing of seasonal programs and events can be found in Recreation's seasonal Guide or online at ActiveMONTGOMERY
Our programs and events take place in Montgomery County Recreation community centers, senior centers, pools, and various public schools and Montgomery Parks facilities.
