Meet Kamal:

Kamal was a regular participant in Montgomery County Recreation programs at East County Community Center while growing up. He began volunteering at the age of 13 and was hired as a seasonal staff at the age of 16. Kamal joined Montgomery County Recreation as a career employee in 2019.

Kamal graduated from Springbrook High School and attended Ashford University majoring in Sports and Recreation Management. He previously worked with MCPS as a paraeducator for 5 years. Kamal is an IAABO official, working high school basketball in the area and Division II and III Women's NCAA Basketball. In his spare time he enjoys watching sports, spending time with family, travelling, and officiating.
