Meet Kim:

Kimberly has been with the Department of Recreation for 10 years. Previously, she worked for the department for 26 years as a seasonal employee. She has a Bachelor of Arts in Multidisciplinary Studies in Education from Cambridge College. Kim has received several awards for her community service including the 3C Servant Leadership Award from the Potomac Valley Alumnae Chapter of the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. in 2009; the Community Builder Award from the Montgomery County Inter-Agency Coordinating Committee for Persons with Developmental Disabilities in 2013; and the MRPA Therapeutic Innovative Program Award in 2014. Prior to joining Recreation full time, she worked for Montgomery County Public Schools and the Housing Opportunities Commission.

Kim was raised in Montgomery County and graduated from Gaithersburg High School. She joined the U.S. Army and spent time locally in the Army Reserves. Her love for sports and recreation began at an early age and she continues to play recreational softball in the county. Kim enjoys crafting, sports and praise dance along with leading mission trips. She’s the mother of four young adult children and loves spending time with her grandchildren.
