Meet Thelma:

Thelma has been with the Department of Recreation for 34 years. She studied Recreation at Montgomery College in Rockville, Md and Physical Education for the Handicapped at Coppin State College in Baltimore, Md. Thelma has many years of experience in recreation and children`s education. She previously worked with Montgomery County Public Schools for 12 years in preschool education and as a girl’s high school basketball coach.

Thelma was raised in Montgomery County and is a graduate of Seneca Valley High School. She began volunteering for the Department of Recreation at the age of 13 at the Plum Gar Community Recreation Center in Germantown, Md. Thelma loves spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, and studying the Bible. She currently resides in Montgomery Village, Md with her husband.
