Short Term Residential Rentals
A short term residential rental is the rental of an entire home or a unit/room in a single-family home, apartment or condominium that is available for rent for less than 30 consecutive days through online sites such as Airbnb, Flipkey, Home Away and VRBO (Vacation Rental By Owner). The dwelling unit used as a short-term residential rental must be the property owner's or owner authorized resident's primary residence.
All short term residential rentals must be licensed through the Montgomery County Dept. of Housing and Community Affairs.
Although Bed and Breakfast Properties may be advertised on multiple sites they are registered thru the Zoning Ordinance differently than a SHORT-TERM RENTAL . For more information, visit the DPS Bed & Breakfast page.
The maximum number of adults 18 years and older per short-term residential rental is six and the maximum number of adults per bedroom is two.
