The Office of Agriculture supports the agricultural sector as a vital part of the County’s economy by:
  • Empowering local farmers through regulatory guidance, marketing support, and technical expertise
  • Bridging the gap between the agricultural community and the County government to ensure responsive and informed policymaking
  • Fostering agricultural awareness through education, outreach, and community engagement

The OAG collaborates with other agricultural agency partners located at the one-stop Agricultural History Farm Park in Derwood, including:

  • University of Maryland-Extension (UME)
  • Montgomery Soil Conservation District (MSCD)
  • Natural Resource Conservation Service (NRCS)
  • Farm Service Agency (FSA)
