Steps to participate in CSA
  • You, the customer meet a farmer and purchase a CSA share before growing season (Spring).
  • The farmer uses your funds for upfront/initial costs such as seeds and labor.
  • The farmer grows a variety of healthy food for you and other CSA members.
  • You get fresh fruit and vegetables every week from a local farmer, whom you've met.

You can sign up for CSA subscriptions and enjoy Montgomery County grown fruits, vegetables, meats, and more throughout the year. Find out more by exploring the list of CSA operations, below.

Neighbors Helping Neighbors in Need Through Community Supported Agriculture.
Community Farm Share (CFS) is an organization that enables private individuals to "sponsor" or donate shares of (fresh fruits & vegetables) for our neighbors in need from several of MoCo's participating CSA farms.  One "share" typically equates to a weekly grocery bag full of fresh produce, continuing from the Spring to the Fall growing seasons.  Your donation enables CFS to buy shares from the farmers and coordinate weekly deliveries of healthy produce from Montgomery County farms directly to the families experiencing food insecurity in our communities.

Montgomery County has seen an estimated 50% increase in the number of residents accessing food assistance services in the past few months, from 60,000 pre-pandemic to well over 100,000 residents as of January 2021.
